Which is better for a heavy mattress?

The Novogratz Bushwick. It is rated to 1000 lb and includes slats. The Cambridge listing gives no weight rating, so it is the riskier choice for heavy memory foam or two large sleepers.

Is the Cambridge worth saving $73?

Yes if you want an upholstered look and a standard queen mattress on a platform. The saving is real, but you give up a stated weight capacity and confirmed slat specs.

Do either need a box spring?

No. The Bushwick says slats are included and a box spring is not required. The Cambridge is a platform bed, which normally means the mattress sits on the frame directly.

Which fits a small room better?

The Bushwick, at 78 in wide versus 87 in for the Cambridge. Both are about 82 in long, so the difference is side to side.

Can I store things under them?

The Bushwick has 6 in of clearance under the frame, enough for low bins. The Cambridge listing does not state clearance, so check before counting on storage.

Hard to say from specs alone. The Bushwick's metal frame and 1000 lb rating suggest it handles more weight and wear. Upholstered frames like the Cambridge can show stains and fabric wear over time.
