What reviewers say
Ariens Snow Blower Cab
Owner feedback on Ariens cabs is generally positive: people say the enclosure makes clearing snow in wind far more bearable and that it mounts solidly without drilling. Complaints tend to focus on fabric wear and the time needed for first assembly.
- Keeps snow and wind off the face and chest
- Sturdy frame that holds shape in gusts
- Straightforward clamp-on installation
- Good visibility through the windows
- Fabric can fray or tear after several seasons
- Assembly takes longer than expected
- Bulky to store when mounted
Questions and answers
- Is there any real difference between these two cabs?
- No. The part type, materials, fit list and installation method are identical, and both list at $163.95 at Mowtown Lochen Equipment as of November 3, 2026. Pick by stock and shipping.
- Will it fit my Ariens Deluxe or Platinum?
- Both listings cover the DELUXE and PLATINUM families, but fit is by model code. Find your code on the machine and confirm it appears on the fit list before ordering.
- Does installing it require drilling?
- No. The kit uses a special clamp and common hand tools, and the front stays open so you can reach the chute controls.
- Is a soft cab worth it over a hard cab?
- A soft cab is lighter and cheaper and blocks wind and blowback, but fabric and windows wear faster than a hard enclosure. For most home driveways it is enough.
- Which lasts longer?
- They are the same kit, so life depends on storage and sun exposure, not the listing. Store it out of weather and the frame and fabric will hold up for several seasons.
- Is one worth extra money?
- No. At the same $163.95 as of November 3, 2026, pay extra only for faster shipping, not for the product.
