Ariens 721026 Snow Thro Cab for Use On All 2 Stages vs Ariens Snow Blower Cab
These are the same Ariens Sno-Thro cab kit under two listings, so the only real difference is price. As of November 3, the 721026 listing is $49.99 at eBay, while the plain "Ariens Snow Blower Cab" listing is $163.95 at Mowtown Lochen Equipment. Owner feedback on Ariens cabs is generally positive: people say the enclosure makes clearing snow in wind far more bearable and that it mounts solidly without drilling. Complaints tend to focus on fabric wear and the time needed for first assembly.
Questions and answers
- Are these two cabs actually the same product?
- Yes. The part type, materials, fit list and installation method match. Treat them as one Ariens cab sold under two listings and buy on price.
- Which is better for a Deluxe or Platinum model?
- Both list the same fit range, including CLASSIC, COMPACT, DELUXE, PLATINUM and TRAK. Check your exact model number against the fit list before ordering, because owners report fitment problems on some models.
- Is the $163.95 cab worth the extra over $49.99?
- Not for the product itself, since the kit is the same. The extra buys a dealer seller, which may matter if you want easier returns or local support.
- Does either cab need drilling to install?
- No. Both use a clamp system and common hand tools, with no drilling. Owners still report the instructions are hard to follow.
- Will the cab block the chute controls?
- No. Both have an open front so you can reach the chute controls. The trade-off is that the cab is bulky and awkward to store.
- Which lasts longer?
- Expect the same life from either, since the frame, fabric and windows are the same. The common weak point reported is the rear sagging despite adjustment.
