Which set is better for a family of four?

Both serve four. The 16-piece Pure White set covers more courses because it adds four dip bowls, so it suits dinners with sauces or sides. The 12-piece set is enough for plates and cereal.

Is the 16-piece set worth the extra money?

It costs $47.40 versus $34.97, about $12 more. You get four extra bowls for that, which is roughly $3 per bowl. If you never use small bowls, save the money.

Do both sets survive the dishwasher and microwave?

Yes. Corelle's glass is dishwasher and microwave safe on both sets. The Pure White set is also listed as freezer safe and safe in a preheated oven.

Both use the same Corelle glass construction, which is chip-resistant and non-porous. Expect similar durability. The pattern on the Mystic Gray set is the main long-term difference, since printed patterns can fade over years of washing.

Can I mix the two sets?

Yes, the plates and bowls are the same sizes, so they stack together. The white and gray patterns will look different side by side, though.

Which has more store options?

The Mystic Gray set is priced new at 7 stores versus 3 for the Pure White set as of November 5, 2026. More stores means more chances to find a lower price.
