Which is better if I rent and can't drill into the ceiling?

The GVN. Its stand needs no anchor, so you can set it on a balcony or patio and take it with you when you move. The Radiata requires a secure overhead mounting point.

Is the Radiata worth $38 more than the GVN?

Only if you already have a beam or branch to hang from. You get a 5 in. cushion, a headrest, 20 lb more capacity and better weather resistance, but you still have to buy or build an anchor.

Which is more comfortable for long sits?

The Radiata, on paper. Its 5 in. seat cushion and tie-on headrest beat the GVN's 2 in. cushion. The GVN's cushion cover does zip off for washing, which the Radiata listing does not mention.

Can I leave either one outside in the rain?

The Radiata is the safer bet, with PE wicker over a powder-coated steel frame. GVN tells buyers to avoid prolonged rain exposure because of the polyester cushions.

Which is easier to store for winter?

The Radiata. The basket folds flat in seconds and there is no stand. The GVN chair folds, but the 77.5 in. stand stays assembled.

How much room does each need?

The GVN stand footprint is about 42 x 39.5 in. and 77.5 in. tall. The Radiata needs clear space around a 29.2 in. wide basket plus headroom for the 60 in. chain.
