The EKO Mirage-T. Its 13.2 gallon capacity handles kitchen waste, and the stainless steel body and quiet lid suit daily use. The Ninestars holds only 3.2 gallons.

Which is better for a bathroom?

The Ninestars DZT-12-5. Its small 8.5 in wide footprint fits beside a toilet or vanity, and at $26.62 at The Home Depot as of November 6, 2026 it costs far less.

Is the EKO worth the extra money?

If it is your main kitchen bin, yes. You get about four times the capacity, stainless steel instead of plastic, and a lid-close timer. For a small room, the Ninestars is enough.

The EKO is the safer bet. Stainless steel resists cracks and stains better than the Ninestars' plastic body, and its 197 ratings give more evidence of long-term reliability.

Do both open without touching?

Yes. Both use a motion sensor to open the lid hands-free. The EKO adds a countdown timer so you can see when the lid will close.

How big is the Ninestars compared with the EKO?

The Ninestars is 14.1 in tall, 8.5 in wide and 12 in deep at 3.2 gallons. The EKO is a 50 liter (13.2 gallon) can, so it is much larger and needs more floor space.
