Which cleans carpets better, the CarpetXpert with StainStriker or the Deluxe?

They use the same PowerSpray spray, high-speed brushroll and suction extraction, so deep-clean results should be nearly identical. The difference is the bundled chemicals and the spot tool setup, not the core machine.

Is the Deluxe worth the savings over the StainStriker model?

Yes, for most shoppers. At $199.99 at Home Depot as of October 30, 2026 it is about $23 less than the $223.00 Walmart price on the StainStriker model as of November 4, 2026, for the same upright cleaner.

Which is better for pet stains and odors?

The StainStriker model has the edge on paper because it includes the 16 oz OXY Multiplier and Shark claims instant odor removal from mixing two chemicals at the tool. The Deluxe also lists a handheld spot and stain eliminator aimed at pet messes.

Do either of these use steam or heated water?

No. Both are hot-water extraction cleaners with no steam and no built-in heater, so you fill the 0.75 gal solution tank with hot water and formula yourself.

How long do these last?

Both are corded residential uprights with a 20 ft cord and HEPA filter, and neither maker publishes a service life. Expect to clean the brushroll and rinse the removable dirty tank regularly; the higher rating count on the StainStriker model gives more reliability signal.

Which is easier to store?

Neither is compact. Both are 43.5 in tall, 13.15 in long and 11.9 in wide with cord wrap, so plan the same closet or garage space for either.

Shark CarpetXpert with StainStriker Upright Carpet & Area Rug Cleaner vs Shark CarpetXpert Deluxe Carpet Cleaner

These are close siblings: the CarpetXpert with StainStriker and the CarpetXpert Deluxe share the same upright body, brushroll, tanks and 20 ft cord, so cleaning performance is effectively the same. The Deluxe is the better buy on price: $199.99 at Home Depot as of October 30, 2026, versus $223.00 at Walmart for the StainStriker model as of November 4, 2026. Buy the StainStriker version only if you want the bundled OXY Multiplier and deep clean formulas and the higher-rated listing; otherwise save the roughly $23.
