Which is better for pet stains?

The Bissell, for most pet messes. Its Steam Pretreat Mode and pet-specific tools target urine and tracked-in dirt, and it includes a 2-in-1 Pet Upholstery Tool. The Shark's handheld spot eliminator is better for stairs and car seats.

Is the Bissell worth it at $37.00?

Yes, if that Akiki Electronics listing is genuine and in stock. It is a $300-plus machine at typical prices, and the same page shows a high of $399.95 on November 2, 2026. Verify the seller and return policy before buying.

Which dries carpet faster?

The Bissell. Its Quick Dry Mode is rated at about 30 minutes. Shark claims ultra-fast drying for the CarpetXpert but gives no figure.

Does the Shark use steam?

No. The CarpetXpert Deluxe has no steam or heating technology; it relies on hot water you add plus its PowerSpray and high-speed brushroll. The Bissell generates steam.

Which has the bigger tank?

The Bissell, with a one-gallon dirty water tank. The Shark's clean solution tank is 0.75 gallon, and its listed 30.4-gallon dirty tank figure is not credible for a home upright.

The Bissell carries a 5-year limited warranty; Shark does not state one for this model. Long-term life depends on use, but the Bissell's coverage is the clearer commitment.
