Which is better for boating or wet decks?

The Solstice. Its laces hold the shoe on your foot and the rubber outsole gives traction; a slip-on loafer can come off more easily.

Which is more comfortable for all-day standing?

The Sawgrass has a memory foam footbed, which most people find softer for standing. The Solstice has a cushioned footbed and good arch support, but some reviewers find the seam uncomfortable on a high instep.

Both are leather Eastland shoes with rubber soles. Solstice buyers report pairs lasting 10 years, but the Sawgrass has no long-term reports, so the Solstice has the better track record.

Is the Sawgrass worth the extra dollar?

It is actually a dollar cheaper: $34.99 versus $35.99 at eBay as of November 7, 2026. Pick by closure and style, not price.

Do either run narrow?

Solstice reviewers say it runs narrow, though some who usually wear narrow found medium width fine. The Sawgrass is listed as medium width with no fit reports.

Can I wear the Sawgrass to the office?

Yes, for casual offices. The chain-link detail and leather upper dress it up more than the boat shoe, but it is still a casual loafer.
