Which sweeper is better for a large lawn?

The Agri-Fab 44 covers 2 inches more per pass and holds 25 cu ft against 17.79, so it finishes a big lawn with fewer passes and fewer dumps. The Yard Commander is fine for large areas but needs more trips.

Is the Agri-Fab worth the extra over the Yard Commander?

It is not extra. The Agri-Fab is $168.01 at eBay as of November 4, 2026, about $6 less than the Yard Commander at $173.99. You get more capacity and width for less money, but you take on the reported gear and hardware issues.

Which one lasts longer?

The Yard Commander has no reported gear failures and uses never-flat wheels. Agri-Fab buyers report plastic wheel gears that strip over time, so keep speed under 3-4 MPH and inspect the hardware kit on arrival.

Can either sweep grass clippings as well as leaves?

Both are manual lawn sweepers with adjustable brush height, so both handle clippings and leaves. Set the brushes higher for turf and lower for leaves, and sweep dry material for the best pickup.

Do I need a riding mower to tow these?

Yes. Both are tow-behind units that attach to a tractor or riding mower. The Agri-Fab includes an off-set hitch; the Yard Commander uses a standard hitch.

How much does each hold before I empty it?

The Yard Commander hopper holds 17.79 cu ft. The Agri-Fab holds 25 cu ft in its bag or hopper, roughly 40% more per load.

Yard Commander 42-Inch Tow-Behind Sweeper vs Agri-Fab 44-Inch Tow-Behind Lawn Sweeper
