  • 35 to 40 mile range is modest and drops with hills, cargo, or throttle use
  • 4 to 6 hour charge time is slow for a daily commuter
  • 20-inch wheels ride harsher than full-size wheels on rough pavement
  • No rear suspension, so the back end feels stiff over bumps
  • Folding frames add weight and hinge points to maintain

Questions and answers

Is the Tracer Coyote worth $799.99?
At $799.99 it is priced in line with entry-level folding e-bikes. You get a 500W motor, a removable 48V 13Ah battery, and front suspension, which is a fair package at that price. Whether it is worth it depends on your commute distance; if you ride more than about 15 miles each way, the 35 to 40 mile range leaves little margin.
How far can I really go on one charge?
Tracer rates range at 35 to 40 miles. Expect closer to the low end with hills, a heavy rider, cargo, or heavy throttle use, and closer to 40 with pedal assist on flat ground. Cold weather also cuts battery range.
How long does the battery take to charge?
A full charge takes 4 to 6 hours. The battery is removable, so you can charge it at a desk or in an apartment rather than running a cord to the bike.
Who does the 20-inch size fit?
Tracer lists typical riders from about 5'5" to 6'2". The 20-inch wheels keep the folded package small, but shorter riders should check standover and seat height before buying.
Does it come with fenders, a rack, or lights?
The listed specs cover the frame, motor, battery, and suspension but do not confirm fenders, a rear rack, or lights. Check the box contents with the seller before ordering if you plan to commute in the rain or carry bags.
When is the price likely to drop?
The only recorded price is $799.99 at Tracer Bikes as of November 3, 2026, so there is no history of discounts yet. Folding e-bikes often see markdowns around Black Friday and end-of-season sales, so watch for those windows.
