Is the Asus Chromebook Plus CX14 worth it?

At $265 at eBay as of November 6, 2026, it is a strong value for browsing, schoolwork and streaming. Skip it if you need Windows apps or long battery life.

What does Chromebook Plus mean?

It is Google's certification for Chromebooks with at least a 1080p screen, 8GB of RAM, a recent Intel Core processor and a 1080p webcam. The CX14 meets those minimums.

How is the battery life?

Most owners report roughly a full school or work day of mixed use, though heavy video streaming drains it faster. Expect to charge it most evenings.

Can it run Windows apps?

No. It runs ChromeOS and Android apps from the Play Store. Windows software needs a remote desktop or web alternative.

Chromebook prices drop around back-to-school and Black Friday. The current $265 at eBay is already near the low end of its recent range.
