Is the ThinkPad T14 Gen 5 AMD good for everyday work?

Yes. The octa-core Ryzen, up to 64 GB RAM and full port set handle office apps, browsers with many tabs and video calls easily. It is not built for gaming or heavy 3D rendering.

How does it compare with the Intel version?

The AMD model generally costs less and runs cooler with comparable everyday performance. The Intel version offers Thunderbolt 4, which matters if you use a Thunderbolt dock or eGPU.

Can I upgrade the RAM and storage?

Yes. The T14 Gen 5 has accessible memory and M.2 storage slots, so you can add RAM up to 64 GB and swap the SSD yourself.

Does it have a touchscreen?

This configuration lists a 1920 x 1200 touchscreen. Non-touch versions exist, so confirm the panel on the listing before buying.

Is $785 a good price?

At $785 at eBay as of November 5, 2026, it is well below typical pricing for a new T14 Gen 5 AMD with these specs, so it is a strong deal if the configuration matches what you need.

Expect the laptop and its USB-C power adapter. A stylus and docking station are not included.
