About the Bright&Plus Matilda Chrome Lava Floor Lamp

The Bright&Plus Matilda is a 56-inch floor lamp with an 18-inch chrome lava-style shade made from acrylic and metal. It ships with one E26 bulb, so it works out of the box with no extra purchase. At $1,249 at Bright&Plus as of November 3, 2026, it is the only new price listed, so there is no recent range to compare against and no discount to wait for.

Best forBuyers furnishing a modern or retro-glam living roomAnyone who wants a statement floor lamp taller than 4 feetShoppers who prefer a lamp that includes its bulb
Pros
  • Tall 56-inch stance fills a corner without a table
  • Wide 18-inch lava shade throws light over a seating area
  • Chrome and acrylic finish suits mid-century and modern rooms
  • Bulb included, so no separate trip to the store
  • Standard E26 socket makes replacements easy
Cons
$1,249 is high for a single floor lamp
  • Only one store lists it new, so little price competition
  • Acrylic shade can scratch and shows dust
  • Bulb type is unspecified, so brightness is unknown
  • No dimmer or smart features mentioned

    • Questions and answers

Is the Matilda floor lamp worth $1,249?
That depends on how much you value the lava-style look. The price buys a tall statement piece with a bulb included, but at $1,249 it costs more than most chrome floor lamps of similar size.
    What bulb does it take?
It uses one standard E26 bulb, and one is included in the box. The listing does not state the bulb's wattage or color temperature, so check the included bulb before relying on it for bright task light.
How tall is it, and will it fit my room?
It stands about 56 inches high with an 18-inch diameter shade. That is tall enough to light a sofa corner but short enough to sit under most 8-foot ceilings.
Can I use it with a dimmer?
Nothing in the specs mentions dimming. To dim it you would need a dimmable E26 bulb plus a dimmer switch or smart plug, and the lamp itself has no built-in control.
    Is it cheaper anywhere else?
As of November 3, 2026, Bright&Plus is the only store listing it new, at $1,249. With a single seller there is no lower price to compare against right now.
    What comes in the box?
You get the lamp and one E26 light bulb. No extra shade, remote or dimmer is listed.
