  • All-foam construction can feel too soft for heavy sleepers or strict back support
  • No coils means less bounce and edge support than a hybrid
  • Twin XL is a narrow size, so it suits one sleeper only
  • Firmness is fixed; there is no option to choose a firmer or softer build

What reviewers say

The mattress holds a 4.7 out of 5 rating from 149 ratings, which points to broad satisfaction. Owners of Vaya's foam beds generally describe a supportive, contouring feel and easy setup, while some heavier sleepers find all-foam models soft over time.

Pros
  • Comfortable contouring without a sinking feeling
  • Easy unboxing and quick expansion
  • Good value for the price
  • Sleeps cooler than expected for foam
Cons
  • Softer than expected for some sleepers
  • Edge support is weaker than a hybrid
  • Takes time to fully expand after unboxing

Questions and answers

Is the Vaya 12" mattress good for back pain?
The comfort layer is designed to contour and keep the spine aligned, and the base foam adds support. Side sleepers usually do well; heavier back sleepers may want a firmer hybrid instead.
Does it work on an adjustable bed?
Yes. Vaya lists flat, slatted and adjustable foundations as compatible. Avoid a solid platform with no airflow if you tend to sleep hot.
How long does it take to expand after unboxing?
It ships compressed in a 19" x 19" x 42.5" box. Most foam mattresses like this reach full height within 24 to 72 hours; minor odor fades in that window.
Is Twin XL the same as a twin?
No. Twin XL is 5 inches longer than a standard twin, which makes it the common dorm and adjustable-bed size. It fits one sleeper.
When is the best time to buy?
Foam mattress prices move around holidays and back-to-school season. The best new price was $287.84 at eBay as of November 4, 2026; compare current listings before buying.
