Our take on the Vaya 12" Memory Foam Mattress, Twin XL

The Vaya 12" Memory Foam Mattress is a two-layer all-foam bed: a contouring comfort layer over a firmer base foam, wrapped in a breathable plush cover. It ships compressed in a box and works on flat, slatted or adjustable foundations. The Twin XL is a dorm and guest-room size, and the best new price is $287.84 at eBay as of November 4, 2026, with two stores listing it new.

Best forCollege students in dorm roomsGuest rooms and daybedsShoppers who want an all-foam bed under $300Back and side sleepers who like a contouring feel
Pros
  • 12 inches of foam gives a plusher, more substantial feel than thin budget mattresses
  • Open-cell foam and a breathable cover are designed to sleep cooler than traditional memory foam
  • Works on flat, slatted and adjustable bases, so no special foundation is needed
  • Ships compressed in a box for easy delivery and setup
  • Twin XL length suits tall sleepers and standard dorm frames
Cons
  • All-foam construction can feel too soft for heavy sleepers or strict back support
  • No coils means less bounce and edge support than a hybrid
  • Twin XL is a narrow size, so it suits one sleeper only
  • Firmness is fixed; there is no option to choose a firmer or softer build

Questions and answers

Is the Vaya 12" mattress good for back pain?
The comfort layer is designed to contour and keep the spine aligned, and the base foam adds support. Side sleepers usually do well; heavier back sleepers may want a firmer hybrid instead.
Does it work on an adjustable bed?
Yes. Vaya lists flat, slatted and adjustable foundations as compatible. Avoid a solid platform with no airflow if you tend to sleep hot.
How long does it take to expand after unboxing?
It ships compressed in a 19" x 19" x 42.5" box. Most foam mattresses like this reach full height within 24 to 72 hours; minor odor fades in that window.
Is Twin XL the same as a twin?
No. Twin XL is 5 inches longer than a standard twin, which makes it the common dorm and adjustable-bed size. It fits one sleeper.
When is the best time to buy?
Foam mattress prices move around holidays and back-to-school season. The best new price was $287.84 at eBay as of November 4, 2026; compare current listings before buying.
Where is the Vaya 12" Memory Foam Mattress, Twin XL cheapest?
