Is 150 lumens bright enough?

Only for a dark or heavily dimmed room. Expect a usable picture around 40 to 60 inches; in daylight or with lamps on, the image will look washed out.

What resolution does it project?

HP does not list a native resolution for this model. Treat it as a casual-viewing projector rather than a 1080p or 4K home-theater unit.

Does it have a battery?

HP's listed specs cover Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, color and brightness only, with no battery stated. Plan on power from a wall outlet or a USB power bank if the input allows it.

Can I connect a phone or laptop?

Yes over Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth handles audio to a speaker or soundbar. Wired HDMI is not listed in the specs, so check the ports before buying for a console or stick.

Is $130 a good price?

Only one store lists it new at $130 as of November 6, 2026, so there is no recent range to compare. At this brightness level, similar budget portables often sell for less, so compare before buying.

What comes in the box?

HP's listing does not detail box contents. Expect the projector and a power adapter; a remote or cables are not confirmed.

About the HP Portable Smart Projector

The HP Portable Smart Projector is a small battery-free-style home projector with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, rated at 150 lumens and finished in blue. The 150-lumen rating is low even for a portable: it suits a dark room and a screen of roughly 40 to 60 inches, not daytime viewing or a big living-room wall. At $130 at Macy's as of November 6, 2026, it is the only new price listed, so there is no recent range to compare against.
