Is 78.7 inches too wide for a small room?

It needs about 6.5 feet of clear wall, so measure first. In a small room, a 47- or 55-inch desk leaves more floor space.

Is the built-in power outlet enough for a full setup?

It handles a monitor, laptop and lamp, but check the outlet's rating before adding a printer or heater. For heavy loads, use a surge protector.

How does it compare with a solid wood desk?

It costs less and is lighter to move. Solid wood resists moisture and holds screws better over many years, but costs several times more.

What is the desk height and depth?

It is 30 inches high and 21 inches deep. That height fits most standard chairs; the 21-inch depth is tight for very large monitors.

Does it come with a chair or monitor stand?

No. The listing covers the desk and its outlet only, so budget for a chair and any monitor arms separately.

When is the best time to buy?

Desks like this usually drop during back-to-school and Black Friday sales. Check the price history before buying at full price.

Our take on the 17 Stories 78.7'' W Rectangle Computer Desk

A wide 78.7-inch rectangular computer desk from 17 Stories, built from manufactured wood with a built-in power outlet. The 30-inch height and 21-inch depth give a standard seated setup, and the long top fits two monitors plus a laptop with room to spare. It is aimed at home offices that need a large, budget-friendly work surface rather than a solid-wood heirloom. No current price was provided, so check the latest store comparison before buying.
