Pros

  • Tool-free blade changes speed up swaps
  • Electric brake stops the blade quickly
  • Variable speed helps with starting cuts
  • Shares 20V MAX POWERCONNECT batteries with other Black+Decker tools

Cons

Questions and answers

Is this saw brushless?
The listing title says brushless, but the specs list a brushed motor. Treat it as a brushed-motor saw and check the model number on the box before buying if brushless matters to you.
What comes in the kit?
The saw, a 20V MAX battery, a charger and one 7-inch 24-tooth high-speed steel blade. No case is listed.
Will it cut metal or masonry?
It is rated for wood. With the right blade it can handle light PVC and thin metal, but it is not a masonry saw and will be slow in thick steel.
Does it use other Black+Decker 20V batteries?
Yes. It takes 20V MAX POWERCONNECT batteries, so packs from other Black+Decker 20V tools fit, and larger packs give longer runtime.
Is $79 a good price?
At $79 at Home Depot as of November 4, 2026, it is at the low end of its recent range across the three stores listing it new. Kits with battery and charger usually cost more than bare tools, so this is a fair kit price.
Do I need a bigger battery?
The included 1.5 Ah pack is fine for short cuts. For extended demolition or pruning, a higher-capacity 20V MAX pack will cut longer between charges.
Where is the 20V MAX* POWERCONNECT Cordless Brushless Reciprocating Saw Kit (Battery & Charger Included) cheapest?
At Home Depot, for $79.00, as of our latest check.
Where can I buy the 20V MAX* POWERCONNECT Cordless Brushless Reciprocating Saw Kit (Battery & Charger Included)?
4 stores we checked sell it, including Home Depot, Walmart, McCoy's Building Supply, BLACK+DECKER Authentics.
