Our take on the Ridgid 18V Cordless Reciprocating Saw Kit With 4.0 Ah Battery & Charger

The Ridgid 18V Cordless Reciprocating Saw Kit pairs a brushless motor turning 0-3,200 strokes per minute with a 4.0 Ah battery and charger. It has tool-free blade changes, an LED light, a trigger lockout and an anti-vibration system Ridgid rates at 30% lower vibration than a standard recip saw. The 7/8-inch stroke and 14-inch cutting depth suit wood demolition, pruning and rough cuts. At $119 at The Home Depot as of November 4, 2026, it sits at the low end for an 18V brushless kit with a battery and charger included.

  • Tool-free blade change speeds up swaps
  • Anti-vibration design reduces fatigue on long cuts

  • 4.0 Ah battery limits runtime on heavy demolition
  • No orbital action setting for faster wood cuts
  • Bare-tool buyers pay for a battery they may not need

Questions and answers

Is this kit worth it at $119?
Yes, if you need a battery and charger. A brushless 18V recip saw plus a 4.0 Ah pack and charger at $119 at The Home Depot as of November 4, 2026 is a low entry price. If you already own Ridgid 18V batteries, compare against the bare tool.
Can it cut metal or PVC?
The saw itself will run any reciprocating blade, but the listing is set up for wood. For metal and PVC, fit the correct blade and use lower speeds; the 7/8-inch stroke makes thick metal slow going.
How long does the 4.0 Ah battery last?
Expect roughly 20 to 40 minutes of near-continuous cutting in wood, less in dense material. For long demolition sessions, a second or larger MAX Output battery is worth having.
Does it work with other Ridgid 18V batteries?
Yes. It runs on the Ridgid 18V battery platform, and Ridgid says maximum power comes with its MAX Output batteries. The included 4.0 Ah pack is the standard starting point.
What is in the box?
The saw, one 4.0 Ah 18V battery and a charger. Blades are typically not included, so plan to buy a wood blade separately.
When is it cheapest?
Ridgid kits usually drop during home-center holiday sales and battery bundle promotions. The current $119 at The Home Depot as of November 4, 2026 is already near the low end for a kit.
Where is the Ridgid 18V Cordless Reciprocating Saw Kit With 4.0 Ah Battery & Charger cheapest?
At The Home Depot, for $119.00, as of our latest check.
Where can I buy the Ridgid 18V Cordless Reciprocating Saw Kit With 4.0 Ah Battery & Charger?
3 stores we checked sell it, including The Home Depot, Amazon, PzDeals.
