Our take on the 3/6x8/0 5 Lite Fiberglass Prehung Front Door with Frosted Glass in Black

This is a prehung exterior front door with five frosted-glass lites in a black painted fiberglass slab, set in a primed wood frame. The frosted glass lets light in while keeping privacy, and the fiberglass skin resists dents, rot and moisture better than wood. It is right-hand inswing and ships prehung, so it drops into a standard opening with less framing work. The best new price is $749.00 at Amazon as of November 8, 2026, with 4 stores pricing it new.

Pros
  • Frosted glass gives light and privacy at the same time
  • Fiberglass skin resists dents, moisture and rot
  • Prehung in a primed wood frame speeds installation
  • Factory-sprayed black finish leaves no brush lines
  • Ball-bearing satin nickel hinges for smooth swing
Cons
  • Handle and lock sold separately, so budget for hardware
  • Fiberglass with a polystyrene core is lighter-duty than solid-core steel
  • Frosted glass blocks the view and cuts some light
  • Right-hand inswing only; left-hand openings need another model

Questions and answers

Is the handle and lock included?
No. The door ships with hinges only. You need to buy a handle set and a lock separately, and the door is prepped for standard hardware.
What size opening does it fit?
The slab is 36 in x 80 in and 1.375 in thick, prehung in a primed wood frame. Measure your rough opening before ordering, since the frame adds width and height.
Does frosted glass still let light in?
Yes. The five frosted lites pass daylight into the entry while blurring the view, so people outside cannot see in clearly.
Is fiberglass better than a wood front door?
For most exteriors, yes. Fiberglass will not rot, swell or warp like wood, and the painted finish holds up with less upkeep. Wood still wins if you want a natural grain look.
Can I paint it a different color?
The factory black finish is sprayed on and durable. You can repaint it, but you would need to scuff and prime the existing finish first for adhesion.
When is the price lowest?
Entry doors often drop during spring remodeling season and fall clearance events. Track the price history here and compare all 4 stores before buying.
Where is the 3/6x8/0 5 Lite Fiberglass Prehung Front Door with Frosted Glass in Black cheapest?
