Is this a good first piano for a beginner?

Yes, for the money. It has 88 full-size keys and touch-sensitive response, so a beginner learns proper hand position and dynamics. Serious students heading toward classical exams will eventually want a weighted hammer-action model.

Are the keys weighted like an acoustic piano?

They are semi-weighted, not graded hammer action. They resist slightly and respond to playing speed, but the feel is lighter and more even than an acoustic or a weighted stage piano.

What comes in the box?

The piano, an adjustable X-stand, a padded case, headphones, a sustain pedal and a power adapter. You can set it up and play without buying anything else.

Can I use it with a phone or tablet app?

Yes. USB-MIDI connects to learning apps and music software. You will need the right cable or adapter for your device, since the piano end is USB.

Can I practice without disturbing others?

Yes. Plug the included headphones into the headphone jack and the speakers go quiet.

Our take on the 88-Key Digital Piano

An unbranded 88-key digital piano with speed-sensitive semi-weighted keys, built-in stereo speakers, USB-MIDI and a sustain pedal. It ships as a bundle with an X-stand, padded case, headphones and power adapter, so it plays out of the box. The cabinet has a wood-grain upright look but is lightweight ABS, aimed at dorms, apartments and small studios. At $145.33 at Walmart as of November 6, 2026, it sits at the low end of what an 88-key bundle costs.
