Is 4 GB of RAM enough?

For basic browsing and documents, yes, but Windows and a few browser tabs will use most of it. The laptop supports up to 16 GB, so a RAM upgrade is the first thing to do.

Can I add more storage?

The 128 GB SSD is small, and many Aspire 5 models have a free drive bay or slot for a second drive. Check the exact model before buying an upgrade.

Is $419 a good price?

It is the best new price found as of November 4, 2026, but it is at the high end for a 4 GB, 128 GB laptop. Comparable budget models often sell for less.

How long does the battery last?

Acer rates it at about 8 hours. Expect closer to 5 to 6 hours of real mixed use, less with video or many tabs.

What ports does it have?

USB-C, HDMI and Ethernet, plus a fingerprint reader and backlit keyboard. That covers wired internet and an external monitor without adapters.

Is it good for gaming?

No. The AMD integrated graphics and dual-core CPU handle video and light apps, not modern games.

Our take on the Acer Aspire 5 15-inch

The Acer Aspire 5 15.6-inch is a budget laptop with a 1080p no-glare screen, backlit keyboard, fingerprint reader and a decent port set: USB-C, HDMI and Ethernet. This configuration pairs a dual-core AMD processor at 2.6 GHz with only 4 GB of RAM and a 128 GB SSD, so it is built for light tasks. At $419 at Walmart as of November 4, 2026, it sits at the top of its recent range rather than at a low.
