Is the Acer Chromebook Plus 714 worth it?

If you live in the browser and want desktop-class speed, yes. The 32 GB RAM and Core Ultra 7 are rare in a Chromebook. If you need Windows apps or gaming, spend elsewhere.

Can it run Windows programs?

No. It runs Chrome OS, so you use web apps, Android apps from Google Play and Linux apps. Windows desktop software needs a Windows laptop.

How is the battery life?

Acer does not publish a runtime figure for this model. The Core Ultra 7 and 32 GB of RAM draw more power than a typical Chromebook, so expect shorter life than a budget ChromeOS laptop.

Does it have a touchscreen?

Yes. The 14-inch IPS panel is a touchscreen at 1920x1200 with a 16:10 aspect ratio and a 60Hz refresh rate.

The laptop and its charger. Acer does not bundle a stylus or a mouse with this model.

Our take on the Acer Chromebook Plus 714

The Acer Chromebook Plus 714 is a 14-inch ChromeOS laptop with a 1920x1200 IPS touchscreen, an Intel Core Ultra 7 155U, 32 GB of RAM and a 512 GB SSD. That is unusually heavy hardware for a Chromebook, and it is aimed at people who keep many tabs and Android or Linux apps open at once. It has no dedicated graphics card, so gaming and heavy video work are out. Its best new price is $906.99 at Amazon as of November 7, 2026, with 4 stores listing it new.
