Is the HP Chromebook 2 Touch worth $183?

For basic browsing, email and schoolwork, yes. At $183 at Amazon as of November 7, 2026 it is cheap for a touchscreen Chromebook, but expect slow performance with many tabs.

Can it run Windows apps like Word or Excel?

No. It runs Chrome OS, so you use web versions of Office or Android apps from the Play Store where supported. Offline use is limited.

How much storage do I really get?

16GB total, and Chrome OS uses a large share of it. Plan on a micro SD card or cloud storage for files and photos.

Does the touchscreen hurt battery life?

HP rates it at up to 12.5 hours, or about 11 with the touchscreen model. Real use with Wi-Fi and video will be shorter.

Is it still getting Chrome OS updates?

This is an older Celeron N3060 model, and its automatic update expiry date has likely passed or is near. Check HP's support page for the exact date before buying.

It is a light, low-cost machine for web browsing, email, school documents and streaming. The touchscreen cuts rated battery life from 12.5 hours to about 11.
