Is the Takeya Actives 18 oz worth it?

Yes if you want a compact, leakproof insulated bottle for commutes and short hikes. At $28.99 at Takeya as of November 4, 2026, it is priced in line with other insulated 18 oz bottles.

How does it compare with the 24 oz or 32 oz Actives?

It uses the same insulation and spout lid but holds less. The larger sizes suit long trips better; the 18 oz fits cup holders and small bags more easily.

Does the spout lid really not leak?

Takeya rates the spout lid leakproof when screwed closed. Owners generally back this up for bag carry, though the spout should be closed fully.

Is it dishwasher safe?

Yes. The bottle, lid and removable bumper are dishwasher safe, and Takeya says handwashing is also fine.

What comes in the box?

One 18 oz stainless steel bottle with the spout lid and the removable protective bumper. The limited lifetime warranty covers manufacturing defects.
