Questions and answers

Is the 45i enough for a large living room?
Alen rates it for up to 800 sq ft, but its CADR of 245 means it cleans that space slowly. For a busy open room, a unit with a higher CADR is a better fit.
Does it come with a filter?
Yes, a True HEPA filter is included. Replacement filters are sold separately and are the main ongoing cost.
How loud is it on high?
Alen lists a maximum of 49 dB. That is roughly the level of a quiet conversation, so it is noticeable but not overpowering.
Can I control it from my phone?
No. The 45i has manual controls only, with no Wi-Fi, app or voice control.
How much does it cost to run?
It draws about 50 W at the top speed, so running it continuously costs only a few dollars a month at typical US electricity rates.
Is $449 a good price?
That is the best new price across the two stores listing it as of November 7, 2026. With little store competition, discounts are uncommon, so waiting rarely saves much.
Where is the Alen BreatheSmart 45i True HEPA Air Purifier cheapest?
At ALEN, for $449.00, as of our latest check.
Where can I buy the Alen BreatheSmart 45i True HEPA Air Purifier?
2 stores we checked sell it, including ALEN, Best Buy.
