Is the Alienware m15 R7 worth it?

It is worth it if you want a fast 1440p gaming screen and top-tier performance and will mostly use it plugged in. If battery life and portability matter more, look at thinner laptops with lower-power GPUs.

Can it run games at 240 fps?

The 240 Hz panel can display up to 240 fps, but reaching that in demanding titles depends on settings and the game. Esports titles are the most likely to hit high frame rates; AAA games will run well below 240 fps at QHD.

How is the m15 R7 different from the m15 R6?

The R7 moves to newer Intel Core i9 options and RTX 30-series graphics with a 240 Hz QHD panel in this configuration. Check the exact GPU and panel on each listing, since both generations were sold in several variants.

Can I upgrade the RAM or storage?

This configuration ships with 32 GB, which is also the stated maximum, so RAM is not upgradable beyond that. The 1 TB SSD can be swapped for a larger drive.

Does it have a touchscreen?

No. The 15.6-inch QHD IPS display is non-touch.

When is the best time to buy it?

Prices on gaming laptops like this tend to drop during major sales events and when a newer model launches. Track the price history and buy when it falls near its recent low.
