What size mattresses does it take?

The main sleeping surface takes a standard twin mattress, and the trundle takes a twin as well, usually a thinner 6- to 8-inch model so it clears the frame when rolled in. Neither mattress is included.

Is the trundle a pop-up or a pull-out?

It is a pull-out trundle that rolls out on casters at floor level. It does not raise up to the height of the main bed.

How hard is assembly?

Most owners manage it in an hour or two, but the frame is heavy and the job is much easier with a second person. You will need basic tools.

Can adults sleep on the trundle?

Short-term, yes, but it sits low and is best for kids or occasional guests. Adults will be more comfortable on the main daybed surface.

Is it worth it compared with a metal daybed?

If you want an upholstered look and a sturdier feel, yes. A metal frame costs less but usually feels less solid and shows wear sooner.

Upholstered daybeds tend to dip during major furniture sales and holiday weekends. Check the price history before buying outside those windows.

Our take on the Andover Mills Plunkett Tiara Upholstered Daybed with Trundle

The Andover Mills Plunkett Tiara is an upholstered wood daybed with a pull-out trundle, sold as frame only, so you add your own mattresses. It works as a sofa by day and sleeps two when the trundle is out, which makes it a common pick for guest rooms, kids' rooms and small apartments. The 4.5-star average across roughly 1,800 ratings puts it among the better-reviewed daybeds in its price class.
