Our take on the Andover Mills Fleur de Lis Living Cockermouth Oriental Burgundy Area Rug

The Andover Mills Cockermouth is a machine-woven polypropylene area rug in a burgundy Oriental pattern, sized 63 by 87 inches (about 5'3" x 7'3"). Its 0.5-inch pile is stain and fade resistant, and the jute backing suits indoor floors. It is a budget-friendly, pet-friendly pick rather than a hand-knotted wool rug. The listed 5'3" x 7'3" size is sold at Wayfair with free 2-day delivery; check the current price against the other sizes before buying.

Questions and answers

Is this rug good for homes with pets?
Yes. The polypropylene surface is stain resistant and easy to spot clean, and the low-shed pile tolerates claws better than wool. Vacuum regularly because the 0.5-inch pile traps hair.
What size is this listing?
This option is 63 by 87 inches, roughly 5'3" x 7'3". The same pattern comes in other sizes, including the 2' x 3' shown in the product photos.
Does it need a rug pad?
A pad is recommended. The jute backing grips somewhat but can slide on smooth floors, and a pad protects the backing and adds cushioning.
Can I use it outdoors or in a bathroom?
No. It is rated for indoor use only, and the jute backing should not get wet.
How do I clean it?
Vacuum without a beater bar, blot spills with a damp cloth and mild soap, and let it air dry. Avoid machine washing.
When is the best time to buy?
Wayfair discounts rugs heavily around major sale events and long weekends. Compare the current price with the other sizes and with similar polypropylene rugs before buying.
