Our take on the Antarctic Star Portable Ice Maker with Handle

The Antarctic Star Portable Ice Maker is a countertop bullet-ice machine that makes 26 lbs of ice a day, with the first 9 cubes ready in about 6 minutes. It has a self-cleaning cycle and a carry handle, and at roughly 9.5 by 11.6 by 11.7 inches it fits on most counters. The best new price is $64.99 at Wayfair as of November 3, 2026, and only one store lists it new, so there is no meaningful price spread to compare against. At that price it sits at the low end of what countertop ice makers typically cost.

Questions and answers

Is the Antarctic Star ice maker worth it?
At $64.99 at Wayfair as of November 3, 2026, it is a low-cost way to get fast ice without a plumbed machine. It suits light-to-moderate use; heavy daily users may want a larger or stainless unit.
How fast does it make ice?
The first batch of 9 cubes takes about 6 minutes, and it produces up to 26 lbs in 24 hours. Real output is lower in hot rooms or if you let the basket sit full.
Does it need a water line?
No. You fill the reservoir by hand and empty the basket manually. That makes it easy to place anywhere with an outlet, but you refill it yourself.
How big is it and where can I put it?
It is about 9.5 inches wide, 11.6 inches deep and 11.7 inches tall, so it fits on most counters and under upper cabinets. Leave clearance around the vents for airflow.
What comes in the box?
You get the ice maker, a removable ice basket, a scoop and the manual. Check the listing for the exact included accessories before ordering.
When is it cheapest?
Countertop ice makers usually drop around summer and during holiday sales. With only one store listing it new, watch that price rather than expecting a multi-store discount.
Where is the Antarctic Star Portable Ice Maker with Handle cheapest?
At Wayfair, for $64.99, as of our latest check.
What do buyers say about the Antarctic Star Portable Ice Maker with Handle?
Rated 4.6 out of 5 from 453 ratings.
