Is the 256GB iPad worth it over the 128GB model?

If you store movies, games or lots of photos locally, yes. The extra space avoids offloading apps, and the price gap is modest next to the base model.

Does this iPad support Apple Intelligence?

No. The A16 chip does not support Apple Intelligence, so AI writing and image tools are unavailable.

Is the screen 60Hz or 120Hz?

It is 60Hz. Only iPad Pro models have 120Hz ProMotion, so scrolling looks less smooth here.

Can I use an Apple Pencil with it?

Yes, it works with Apple Pencil (USB-C) and the first-generation Pencil via a USB-C adapter. The Pencil is sold separately.

Is cellular worth the extra cost?

Only if you often use it away from Wi-Fi. Cellular is 4G only, so it will not match 5G speeds on phones.

When is the best time to buy?

Prices tend to dip during back-to-school and Black Friday sales. At $499.99 it is near its recent high, so waiting for a discount is reasonable.

Our take on the Apple 11-Inch iPad A16 256GB

The 11-inch iPad (A16) is Apple's mainstream tablet, released in 2025 with a 2360x1640 Liquid Retina display, the A16 chip and 256GB of storage. It keeps the familiar iPad formula: Touch ID, USB-C, Wi-Fi 6 and optional 4G cellular. At $499.99 at Target as of November 7, 2026, the 256GB model sits near the top of its recent range, so it is not a bargain moment.
