Is the iPad 9th Gen still worth buying?

Yes if you want the cheapest new iPad for streaming, browsing, notes and video calls. If you need USB-C, a faster chip or more storage, a newer iPad or an iPad Air is the better spend.

Does it work with the Apple Pencil and keyboard?

It supports the Apple Pencil (1st generation) and the Smart Keyboard, both sold separately. The newer Apple Pencil 2 and Magic Keyboard do not fit.

For streaming, web and cloud-stored documents, yes. If you download lots of video, games or photos, plan on iCloud storage or pick a higher-capacity model.

How long does the battery last?

Apple rates it at 10 hours of Wi-Fi web browsing or video. The 8,557 mAh battery typically gets most users through a day of mixed use.

Is it a good price at $419.85?

That is the lowest price seen since November 3, 2026, when it was $464.26, so it sits at the bottom of its recent range. Waiting is unlikely to save much unless a broader sale hits.

A new iPad 9th Gen ships with a Lightning-to-USB-C cable and a 20W USB-C power adapter. The Pencil and keyboard are not included.
