Is the 3rd-gen iPad Pro 12.9 still worth buying?

Yes if you find it well under the price of a current iPad Air or Pro and the battery is healthy. Check battery health and screen condition first, since it is a 2018 model.

How is it different from the 2nd-generation 12.9-inch iPad Pro?

It drops the home button and Lightning port for Face ID and USB-C, and uses the A12X chip instead of the A10X. The screen is the same size but the body is thinner.

Does it work with the Apple Pencil and Magic Keyboard?

It supports the second-generation Apple Pencil, which charges magnetically on the side. It works with the Magic Keyboard and Smart Keyboard Folio made for this generation, not older ones.

How much storage should I get?

Avoid 64GB unless you mostly stream and store files in the cloud. 256GB is the safer minimum for apps, photos and offline video.

How long does the battery last?

Apple rated about 10 hours of web browsing or video. On a used unit expect less, so ask the seller for battery health or a cycle count.

What comes in the box?

Retail boxes included the iPad, an 18W USB-C power adapter and a USB-C cable. Used listings often ship the tablet only, so confirm the charger is included.

Our take on the Apple iPad Pro 12.9" 3rd Generation

The 2018 iPad Pro 12.9-inch was the first iPad to drop the home button and Lightning port for Face ID and USB-C. Its A12X chip and 2732x2048 laminated display still handle drawing, note-taking and video well. It is a used or refurbished buy now, so condition and battery health matter more than the spec sheet.
