Is the 3rd Gen iPad Pro still worth buying in 2025?

Yes if you want a big screen for drawing, notes or video and do not need 5G or the latest chip. Check the battery health and warranty on a refurbished unit first.

Does it work with Apple Pencil 2 and Magic Keyboard?

Yes. It supports the Apple Pencil 2, which charges magnetically on the side, and the Magic Keyboard and Smart Keyboard Folio made for this 12.9-inch model. Older Pencil 1 and older keyboards do not fit.

How is battery life on a refurbished unit?

Apple rated it at about 10 hours of web browsing or video. A used 2018 unit will likely fall short of that, so ask the seller for battery health or cycle count.

Is the cellular model worth the extra cost?

Only if you need data away from Wi-Fi. It takes a 4G LTE SIM or eSIM and has no 5G, so it is slower than current cellular iPads.

Open-box refurbished listings usually include the tablet and a charging cable or adapter, but contents vary by seller. Confirm the charger and warranty before ordering.

Prices for this generation tend to drop around back-to-school season and major sales events, and refurbished stock is cheapest when newer iPad Pro models launch.

Our take on the Apple iPad Pro 3rd Gen 12.9" Tablet

The 2018 iPad Pro 12.9-inch is Apple's first full-screen tablet, with Face ID, a 2732 x 2048 Liquid Retina display and the A12X Bionic chip. This is the 256GB Wi-Fi + Cellular model in Space Gray, sold refurbished in open-box condition. It is a 2018 design on 4G, not 5G, and it uses the older Apple Pencil 2 and Magic Keyboard style accessories. No price was provided for this listing, so compare the current offer against recent listings before buying.
