Our take on the Arlmont & Co Cordless String Trimmer 12"

The Arlmont & Co Cordless String Trimmer is a battery-powered grass trimmer with a 12-inch cutting width, aimed at light yard cleanup rather than heavy brush. The 12-inch swath is on the small side for a string trimmer, which makes it easier to maneuver around beds, fences and tight corners. No current price or price history is available for this model, so it cannot be compared with its recent range right now.

Questions and answers

Is a 12-inch cutting width enough?
For edging beds, fences and small lawns, yes. It takes more passes than a 14- or 16-inch trimmer on large open areas.
Does it come with a battery and charger?
That depends on the kit version. Check the listing carefully, since many cordless trimmers are sold as tool-only.
How long does the battery last?
Runtime depends on the battery you use and grass thickness. Expect shorter runs in tall, wet grass than in light edging.
Is it good for thick weeds and brush?
No. A 12-inch cordless trimmer is built for grass and light weeds, not dense brush.
What string size does it take?
Line size is not specified here. Confirm the spool and line diameter in the manual or product listing before buying refills.
When is the best time to buy?
Cordless outdoor power tools usually see discounts in late fall and winter and around spring sales. No current price is available to judge today's deal.
