Our take on the Arlopu 21.1 Gal Automatic Trash Can Stainless Steel Touchless Motion Sensor Garbage Can with Lid

The Arlopu is a 21.1-gallon stainless steel trash can that opens with a motion sensor, so you never touch the lid. That capacity is large for a sensor can, which suits kitchens with heavy waste and fewer bag changes. At $73.99 at Walmart as of November 6, 2026, it is the only new price shown, so there is no recent range to judge it against. Its 3.5 out of 5 from 15 ratings suggests buyers are split.

Questions and answers

How does the motion sensor work?
A sensor in the lid detects motion nearby and opens the lid without contact. It runs on batteries, so keep spares on hand.
What size trash bags fit a 21.1-gallon can?
Use bags rated for about 21 gallons or a bit more. Standard 13-gallon kitchen bags will be too small.
Is $73.99 a good price for it?
Walmart lists it at $73.99 as of November 6, 2026, and only one other store prices it new. With no recent price history, compare that figure against other 20-gallon sensor cans before buying.
Will the lid open on its own?
Sensor cans can trigger when someone walks past. Place it away from busy walkways if that becomes a problem.
Does it need batteries?
Yes. The sensor and lid motor run on batteries, so factor in replacements over time.
Is it good for a family kitchen?
The 21.1-gallon capacity suits households that generate a lot of trash. Check that you have the floor space for a can this large.
Where is the Arlopu 21.1 Gal Automatic Trash Can Stainless Steel Touchless Motion Sensor Garbage Can with Lid cheapest?
At Walmart, for $73.99, as of our latest check.
