Our take on the Ashley Altari Slate Living Room Set Sofa & Loveseat & Ottoman

The Ashley Altari Slate living room set is a three-piece package: a sofa, a loveseat and an ottoman in slate gray chenille-feel polyester. It stands out for its contemporary lines, corner-blocked frame and the option to buy it in eight different set configurations, so you can match seating to your room. The set is a mainstream, widely sold Ashley design, so it is easy to find and easy to live with. Pricing varies by configuration and store, and the set is a mid-range buy rather than a budget one.

Pros
  • Chenille-feel polyester is soft but easy to clean
  • Corner-blocked frame adds stability for daily use
  • Attached backs and loose seat cushions balance support and easy fluffing
  • Accent pillows included with the sofa and loveseat
  • Eight configuration options let you size the set to the room
  • Slate gray hides stains and pet hair better than light fabrics
Cons
  • Seat cushions are reported to be on the firm side
  • Polyester chenille can pill and show crushing over time
  • Three pieces take up real floor space; measure before ordering
  • Fabric is not reversible, so wear shows on one side only
  • Matching pieces must be bought as a set, limiting mix-and-match

Questions and answers

Is the Ashley Altari set worth it?
For a coordinated gray sofa, loveseat and ottoman at a mid-range price, yes. The corner-blocked frame and easy-clean polyester make it a practical family choice. If you want plush, soft seating, look elsewhere.
How firm is the seating?
Owners describe it as a little firm, especially when new. Foam wrapped in poly fiber softens with use, but it stays supportive rather than sink-in soft.
What comes in the box?
The three-piece set includes the sofa, loveseat and ottoman, plus decorative accent pillows with the sofa and loveseat. Other configurations add or swap pieces.
Can I buy just the sofa or just the loveseat?
The set is offered in eight configurations, so you can choose a smaller package, but individual pieces are usually sold separately rather than split from this bundle.
How do I clean the chenille-feel fabric?
Vacuum regularly and spot clean with a mild upholstery cleaner. The polyester blend tolerates gentle cleaning, but avoid soaking the cushions.
When is the best time to buy?
Furniture sets typically drop during major holiday sales and end-of-season clearance. Compare the current price against its recent range before buying.
