Our take on the Asofer Sleeper Chair Bed 3-in-1 Convertible Pull-Out Armchair

The Asofer Sleeper Chair Bed is a 3-in-1 convertible armchair that folds flat into a sleeper and reclines into a lounger. It uses a metal frame rated to 400 lb, gray spot-pattern velvet upholstery, and measures 30.7 in wide by 44 in high. It suits small rooms that need occasional guest sleeping more than daily lounging. It is a budget-tier import chair, so expect firm padding and a short useful life.

Best forStudio and small-apartment owners who need an occasional guest bedGuest rooms and home offices that double as sleeping spaceShoppers who want a sleeper chair under a few hundred dollarsLight-use lounging and reading in a bedroom corner
Pros
  • Three positions: chair, recliner and flat sleeper
  • 400 lb weight capacity is high for this class of chair
  • Narrow 30.7 in footprint fits tight rooms
  • Velvet cover feels softer than typical budget fabric
  • No assembly of a separate mattress needed
Cons
  • Firm, thin padding; not comfortable for long sitting
  • Folding mechanism can be stiff and needs clearance to open
  • Velvet with a spot pattern shows crushing and marks
  • Seat height and depth suit smaller adults better
  • Long-term durability of the metal hinge and foam is unproven

Questions and answers

Is it comfortable enough to sleep on every night?
No. The padding is thin and firm, so it works for occasional guests but not as a primary bed. Add a mattress topper if someone sleeps on it regularly.
How big is the bed when it is folded out?
The chair is 30.7 in wide and 44 in high; folded flat it becomes a narrow single sleeper roughly the width of the seat. Measure your floor space before opening it, since the back needs room to fold down.
Does it hold a 400 lb person?
The frame is rated to 400 lb, but that rating covers the metal frame, not long-term foam support. Heavier users should expect the cushions to compress faster.
Is assembly required?
Yes, the legs and back typically need attaching, and the hardware is included. Allow about 30 to 45 minutes with two people.
How do I clean the velvet?
Vacuum it with a soft brush and blot spills right away with a damp cloth. Avoid soaking the fabric, and do not machine wash the covers.
When is it cheapest?
Convertible chairs like this usually drop during holiday sales and end-of-season furniture events. Track the price history and buy when it falls below its recent average.
What do buyers say about the Asofer Sleeper Chair Bed 3-in-1 Convertible Pull-Out Armchair?
