Is the ATN Thor LTV worth it?

It makes sense if you hunt at close to mid range and want video built in. If you need to identify game past 300 yards, a higher-resolution thermal like the Thor 4 costs more but shows far more detail.

How far can the 320x240 sensor see?

You can detect heat at several hundred yards, but positive identification of game is realistic at roughly 100-200 yards. Detail falls off quickly at 15x.

Does it record video?

Yes. The scope records video to a microSD card, so you can save footage of hunts without a separate camera.

Expect the scope, a mount, an eyepiece, a battery and a charging cable. Check the listing for the exact bundle before ordering.

Thermal scopes tend to drop around hunting-season sales and Black Friday. Watch the price history for a dip below the usual street price.

Our take on the ATN Thor LTV 5-15x Thermal Rifle Scope 320x240 W/video

The ATN Thor LTV is a thermal rifle scope built around a 320x240 sensor with 5-15x magnification and onboard video recording. It is aimed at hunters and night-time shooters who want a lighter, simpler thermal optic than ATN's higher-resolution Thor 4 line. The 320x240 core is entry-level for thermal in this price class, so it shows heat signatures clearly at close and mid range but loses detail past a few hundred yards.
