Our take on the Aurzen Ultra-Portable Roku TV Mini Projector

The Aurzen Ultra-Portable Roku TV Mini Projector is a 1-pound, 720p projector with Roku TV built in, so it streams Netflix, YouTube and other apps without a stick or laptop. Its 160-lumen output suits a dark room and a screen up to roughly 60-80 inches, not a lit living room. No current price was supplied for this page, so check the live comparison before buying.

Best forBedroom and dorm movie nights in a dark roomTravelers and campers who want streaming without extra gearRenters who want a big screen without mounting a TVCasual viewers who already use Roku
Pros
  • Roku TV built in, so no streaming stick needed
  • Weighs about 1 pound and fits in a bag
  • Native 720p is sharper than the 480p panels common at this size
  • Wi-Fi and Bluetooth for streaming and wireless audio
Cons
  • 160 lumens needs a dark room; daylight washes the image out
  • 720p, not 1080p, so text and fine detail look soft on a big screen
  • Small built-in speakers; plan on Bluetooth headphones or a speaker
  • No price history available here, so value is hard to judge

Questions and answers

Is 160 lumens bright enough?
Only in a dark or heavily dimmed room. In daylight or with lamps on, the picture looks washed out. A screen of 60 to 80 inches diagonal is a realistic maximum.
Do I need a streaming stick or a laptop?
No. Roku TV is built in, so you sign in to apps like Netflix and YouTube over Wi-Fi. You can also cast or connect a device over Bluetooth.
What resolution does it project?
Native 1280 x 720. It accepts higher-resolution input but downscales it to 720p, so 1080p content looks softer than on a full-HD projector.
How big a screen can it make?
It can throw an image well past 100 inches, but at 160 lumens the picture gets dim and soft. Most owners will be happiest around 60 to 80 inches in a dark room.
Is it good for gaming?
Only for casual, low-stakes play. Expect visible input lag and motion blur on fast games, and the dim output hurts in anything but a dark room.
When is it cheapest?
Small projectors like this usually drop during Black Friday, Prime Day and back-to-school sales. Check the price history chart on this page before buying.
