Our take on the Autel Robotics EVO Lite Premium Bundle

The EVO Lite Premium Bundle is Autel's compact camera drone, sold with extra batteries, a case and spare props. It flies up to 40 minutes per battery and reaches 42 mph, with a rated control range of 7.4 miles. It sits in the sub-250g class, so in the US it can fly without registration under the recreational exception. Its only recorded price is $899.95, so there is no recent range to compare against yet.

Best forTravelers who want a small drone that packs flatRecreational pilots avoiding registrationAerial photo and video on hikesBuyers who want spare batteries in one box
Pros
  • 40-minute flight time per battery, long for its size
  • Under 250g, so no US registration for recreational flight
  • 42 mph top speed handles wind better than most mini drones
  • Premium bundle adds batteries and a case, cutting extra purchases
  • 7.4-mile rated range gives headroom for line-of-sight flying
Cons
  • $899.95 is steep for a mini drone; DJI's Mini 4 Pro costs less
  • Autel's app and firmware updates are less polished than DJI's
  • Fewer third-party accessories and repair options
  • No obstacle sensing on all sides like larger Autel models
  • Camera and gimbal specs are not listed here, so verify before buying

Questions and answers

Is the EVO Lite Premium Bundle worth $899.95?
It is a fair price for a sub-250g drone with 40-minute batteries and a case, but DJI's Mini 4 Pro bundle offers similar flight time and better obstacle sensing for less. Buy it if you specifically want Autel's platform or the extra batteries.
Do I need to register this drone in the US?
No, if you fly recreationally. At under 250g it falls under the FAA's exception, though you still need a TRUST test certificate. Register it if you fly under Part 107.
How many batteries come in the Premium Bundle?
Autel's premium bundles typically include three batteries plus a multi-charger and carrying case. Confirm the exact contents with the seller before ordering.
How does it compare with the DJI Mini 4 Pro?
Both are sub-250g drones with roughly 40-minute batteries. The Mini 4 Pro adds omnidirectional obstacle sensing and a more mature app; the EVO Lite counters with a higher top speed and a simpler controller setup.
What is the real range?
The 7.4-mile figure is a best-case rating under ideal conditions. Expect well under that in populated areas, and keep the drone in sight as US rules require.
When is it cheapest?
The only price on record is $899.95, logged on October 29, 2026. Watch for bundle discounts around major sales events, since drone prices often drop then.
