Our take on the Avenco CozyNest 8 inch Twin Size Medium Supportive Innerspring Mattress

The Avenco CozyNest is an 8-inch twin innerspring mattress with a medium feel and a pillow top. It uses Bonnell coils and is rated for up to 500 lb, so it suits kids' rooms, guest beds and light adult use. At 8 inches it is a low-profile mattress, so deep sheets may fit loosely. Shoppers should compare its current price against its recent range before buying, since innerspring twins in this class swing widely in price.

Questions and answers

Is the Avenco CozyNest 8-inch twin worth it?
For a child's room or a guest bed used occasionally, yes: it is a low-cost medium innerspring. For nightly use by a heavier adult, a thicker mattress with pocketed coils will hold up longer.
How firm is the medium feel?
It sits in the middle: softer than a firm innerspring but with more pushback than a memory foam bed. Side sleepers may find it too firm; back and stomach sleepers usually find it fine.
Does it need a box spring?
No. It works on a slatted frame, platform bed or box spring. A solid, flat base helps the thin 8-inch build last longer.
Will a partner feel me move?
Yes. Bonnell coils are linked, so movement carries across the mattress more than with pocketed coils or foam.
What size and weight does it support?
It is a twin, about 38 by 75 inches, rated for up to 500 lb. That rating is generous for a twin, but the 8-inch thickness still limits long-term durability for heavy sleepers.
When is it cheapest?
Innerspring twins like this drop most during holiday mattress sales and back-to-school events. Check the price history before buying rather than paying list price.
