Our take on the Balham Trade Queen 100% Washed Cotton Striped Duvet Cover Set, Classic Gingham Bedding Set Forest Green

This is a three-piece duvet cover set from Balham Trade: one duvet cover and two zippered pillowcases in 100% washed cotton with a forest green gingham check. The 200 thread count woven cotton is a mid-weight, year-round fabric, and the washed finish means it should feel soft from the first wash rather than stiff. No current price was supplied for this listing, so check the live comparison before buying.

Best forShoppers who want breathable all-cotton bedding instead of polyester blendsFans of classic gingham and green-toned bedroomsPeople who dislike buttons or ties and prefer zippered pillowcasesGuest rooms and seasonal bedding swaps
Pros
  • 100% cotton face and backing, not a poly-cotton blend
  • Washed finish softens the fabric out of the bag
  • Zipper closure on both pillowcases keeps pillows tidy
  • 200 thread count woven cotton is breathable and year-round weight
  • Machine washable; line dry or lay flat
Cons
  • No duvet cover closure type is stated, so check whether it is buttons, ties or a zip
  • 200 thread count is modest; expect a crisper, lighter hand than high-count sateen
  • Gingham check is a strong pattern that limits styling options
  • Line dry or lay flat only; no tumble drying stated
  • Only two pillowcases included, so larger pillow counts need extras

Questions and answers

Is this duvet cover set worth it?
It depends on price. All-cotton construction with a washed finish and zippered shams is a solid spec for everyday bedding. Compare the live price against plain cotton sets before deciding.
What is included in the set?
Three pieces: one duvet cover and two pillowcases with zipper closures. No fitted sheet or flat sheet is included, so you need those separately.
Will it shrink after washing?
Washed cotton is usually pre-shrunk, but some shrinkage is normal for cotton. Wash cold and line dry or lay flat to limit it.
Does it work in summer and winter?
The fabric is described as year-round weight. Cotton breathes well in warm rooms and layers over a duvet in cooler months.
What size duvet does the cover fit?
The listing does not state dimensions. Check the size chart for the cover and pillowcase measurements before ordering, since sizing varies by seller.
When is the price lowest?
Cotton bedding tends to drop during seasonal home sales and clearance events. Set a price alert and compare across stores rather than buying at the first listing you see.
