Questions and answers

Is this set worth it for a beginner?: Yes, if you want one purchase that covers shaking, measuring, muddling and straining. A beginner can make most classic cocktails without buying more tools.
Boston shaker or cobbler shaker: which is this?: This is a Boston shaker, a two-piece tin-and-glass or tin-and-tin design with no built-in strainer. It is the style most bars use, but it takes a little practice to seal and break open.
What is in the box?: The set has 9 pieces, including the shaker, a jigger, a muddler and a strainer. Check the full piece list on the listing, since the extras beyond those four vary.
Does the shaker leak?: A Boston shaker seals when the tin is tapped firmly and not overfilled. Fill it no more than about two-thirds and it should hold through a normal shake.
When is it cheapest?: Cocktail sets usually dip around holiday gifting season and during store-wide sales. Compare the current price with its price history before buying.
What do buyers say about the Barillio Boston Shaker Cocktail Shaker Set Professional Bartender Kit?: Rated 4.8 out of 5 from 82 ratings.
