Is the Bauer S23 X Skate Jr heat moldable?

No. The boot is not heat moldable, so it will not be baked to your child's foot. Fit depends on picking the right size and width.

What sizes does it come in?

It is listed in junior US sizes 10 and 2, in a D width. Check Bauer's junior size chart against your child's measured foot before ordering.

Is $159.99 a good price for this skate?

Only one store lists it new at $159.99 as of November 7, 2026, so there is no lower recent price to compare. Compare it with other junior skates in the same Bauer line before deciding.

Is this a goalie skate?

No. It is a regular ice hockey skate for skaters, not a goalie skate.

Who is this skate for?

It suits young players in house or recreational hockey who have outgrown entry-level skates and need a sturdier boot in a standard width.

What should I check before buying?

Confirm the junior size and D width match your child's foot, and ask the store whether sharpening is included, since the skate is not moldable.

Our take on the Bauer S23 X Skate Jr

The Bauer S23 X Skate Jr is a junior ice hockey skate in Bauer's S23 line, built for young players moving up from entry-level skates. It uses a D-width boot and is not heat moldable, so the fit comes from the stock shape and sizing rather than a custom bake. As of November 7, 2026, the best new price is $159.99 at Dick's Sporting Goods, the only store listing it new, so there is no recent price range to compare against.
