The Bauer Whistler is a recreational ice skate built for comfort rather than hockey performance. It pairs a soft nubuck leather upper and anatomically molded shell with an insulated wool-felt liner, foam padding and a sherpa fur collar, so feet stay warm on open ice. The pre-sharpened blade has a ½-inch radius and a shape Bauer says is easier to balance on. At $29.99 at B&R Sports as of November 7, 2026, it sits at the low end of its recent range across the 6 stores that price it new.
