Our take on the Bdeus 2 inch Cooling Gel Memory Foam Mattress Topper Queen

The Bdeus is a 2-inch gel memory foam mattress topper in queen size, meant to soften a too-firm mattress without changing its height much. The gel infusion is there to pull heat away from the body, and the medium firmness suits most sleepers. At 9.92 lb it is light enough to move and rotate by yourself. The foam core is not washable, so it needs a separate mattress protector.

Best forBack and side sleepers on a too-firm mattressRenters who can't replace the mattressHot sleepers wanting a cooler foam layerGuest beds that need a quick comfort upgrade
Pros
  • 2-inch profile adds cushioning without a big height jump
  • Gel-infused foam is designed to sleep cooler than plain memory foam
  • Medium firmness works for most sleeping positions
  • Light at 9.92 lb, easy to rotate and move
  • Queen size fits standard queen mattresses
Cons
  • 2 inches is thin; it won't fix a badly sagging mattress
  • Foam core is not washable and needs a protector
  • Gel cooling fades as the foam compresses over time
  • Memory foam can still feel warm to very hot sleepers

Questions and answers

Is a 2-inch topper thick enough?
It is enough to soften a firm mattress, but not to fix sagging or add real support. If you need a big comfort change, look at 3 to 4 inches.
Does the gel actually keep it cool?
Gel infusion helps compared with plain memory foam, but it is not active cooling. Hot sleepers should pair it with breathable sheets.
How do I clean it?
The foam is not washable. Spot clean only and use a waterproof mattress protector, which can be washed.
Will my sheets still fit over it?
Usually yes. Two inches is a modest addition, and deep-pocket sheets will fit without trouble.
Does it have a warranty?
Check the seller's listing for warranty terms before buying, since foam toppers vary by retailer.
What do buyers say about the Bdeus 2 inch Cooling Gel Memory Foam Mattress Topper Queen?
Rated 4.7 out of 5 from 12 ratings.
