Our take on the Best Choice Products 9ft Pre-Lit Pencil Skinny Spruce Slim

A 9-foot pencil-profile artificial Christmas tree from Best Choice Products, built from PVC needles on a metal stand and pre-strung with multicolor lights. Its slim footprint suits narrow rooms, hallways and entryways where a full-width tree won't fit. The best new price is $164.99 at Best Buy as of November 8, 2026, with four stores carrying it new.

Best forSmall rooms and apartmentsHallways and entrywaysHigh ceilings with limited floor spaceShoppers who want lights already attached
Pros
  • 9-foot height gives a tall tree without a wide base
  • Pencil shape fits tight corners and narrow spaces
  • Lights come pre-strung, so no separate light strands
  • PVC and metal build is standard for the price
  • Multicolor lighting option for a classic look
Cons
  • Slim profile holds fewer ornaments than a full tree
  • Pre-lit strands can fail and are hard to replace
  • PVC needles look less natural than PE-molded tips
  • Assembly and fluffing take time on a 9-foot tree

Questions and answers

Is a 9-foot pencil tree big enough for a living room?
It is tall but narrow, so it reads as a corner or accent tree rather than a centerpiece. It suits rooms with high ceilings and limited floor space.
Are the lights replaceable if a strand goes out?
Pre-lit trees of this type usually have bulbs you can swap, but a failed wire section is difficult to repair. Check the lights before you decorate.
How wide is a pencil tree compared with a full tree?
Pencil trees are roughly half the diameter of a full tree of the same height. That means fewer ornaments and less room for large decorations.
Does it come in one box?
A 9-foot tree typically ships in a single long box with the sections, stand and lights included. Confirm the box dimensions before ordering if storage space is tight.
When is the price lowest?
Artificial tree prices usually drop in late November and after Christmas. The current best new price is $164.99 at Best Buy as of November 8, 2026.
Where is the Best Choice Products 9ft Pre-Lit Pencil Skinny Spruce Slim cheapest?
At Best Buy, for $164.99, as of our latest check.
Where can I buy the Best Choice Products 9ft Pre-Lit Pencil Skinny Spruce Slim?
4 stores we checked sell it, including Shop Simon, Best Buy, Lowe's, The Home Depot.
