Is percolated coffee different from drip coffee?

Yes. A percolator cycles boiling coffee through the grounds repeatedly, so the result is stronger and hotter but can turn bitter if it stays on the heat too long. Drip machines pass water through the grounds once.

How many cups does the 12-cup size really make?

It makes about 12 small cups, roughly 1.8 L. In standard 8 oz mugs that is closer to 7 or 8 servings.

Is the carafe and basket dishwasher safe?

Most stainless percolators of this type are hand wash only, and the heating base must never be submerged. Check the manual that comes with the unit before washing.

Does it keep coffee hot after brewing?

Yes. The warming base holds the pot at serving temperature after the brew cycle, though long holding can deepen the bitter taste.

Is $37.66 a good price?

It is a low price for a 12-cup stainless electric percolator, and only two stores list it new as of November 6, 2026. Compare the other store's price before buying.

What comes in the box?

Expect the percolator, a stainless brew basket with stem and lid, and a cord. Filters are not usually included.
